Welcome! Please review the following recommendations prior to starting the Program:
Introduction:
The Mystical Mind Training (MMT) Program is available through Moodle, which is a user-friendly, e-learning software platform. Many universities and educators around the world use this platform to make courses and programs available online. Although Moodle is easy to use, you will need to be "computer literate" to participate in MMT. If you are new to technology or you are new to your computer/laptop/device, explore your device and the following applications/accessories thoroughly before enrolling in MMT. Attend some basic training courses if necessary.
Helpful hint: Search engines such as Google and YouTube can be very helpful in answering any questions you may have.
Basic Requirements:
You will need to download and be reasonably proficient in using the following (see section B for detailed information and links):
- Web browser – We suggest Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari as they are the most thoroughly tested browsers with MMT. We would recommend against using Internet Explorer as we have noticed some minor issues in that browser.
- Skype – To make and receive calls with participants and staff, and to participate in group calls. You will need to know how to use a headset, mute your microphone, and join a group call.
- Documents – To make and save text documents using an application such as Word, NotePad, TextEdit, or OpenOffice.
- Folders – To make and save/organize folders on your computer/device.
- Email – To send, receive, and save/organize emails. We recommend keeping your inbox clear and using a system of folders to save/organize emails.

If you currently own a computer:

- Speakers and microphone – built-in or separate.

B. Internet browsers and plugins:
- The following downloads/installs are recommended (all are free):
- Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari are the most thoroughly tested browsers with MMT program, though it should be compatible with most major web browsers (note that we have seen minor issues in Internet Explorer). Please make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of your browser.
- Some of the courses use pop-up windows, therefore you may need to disable pop-up blockers in your browser. Some blockers may be turned off in Windows by right-clicking an icon on the system tray, next to where the clock resides.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader (or alternative PDF reader): To read the PDF documents.
- Skype: For online chats, video chats, conference calls.
- You can use your built-in speakers and microphone.
- Recommendation: Purchase a good headset/microphone combo with a good quality webcam.
C. Internet access:
- MMT makes use of robust media to facilitate transfer of training. Having a good internet connection is helpful for the program to run smoothly.
D. Supplementary:
- Word Processing programs to read .doc files:
- Microsoft Word
- OpenOffice: This is a free application for Mac.
- Google Docs: This is a free application for Mac and PC. You will need to set up a Google account.
E. Mobile Moodle:
- Moodle is mobile-compatible and should display on most devices (in some cases, you may need to update to the current version for your operating system in order to access audio/video players).
- If you find the text size on larger mobile devices (e.g. Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy, etc.) to be too small to read, please try adjusting the text or zoom settings on your device (e.g., General > Accessibility or Settings > Display). On some devices, you can double-tap the text you want to read so that it enlarges to fit the width of the screen.
F. Permission:
-
Many of the audio and video resources within MMT are not produced by us, and they have copyright restrictions. All material used in this program is used for educational purposes only. Please do not download audio or video files from MMT to your computer (with the exception of the audios in the Audio Downloads section).
